[Board Games] So Long, My World
A new game was on the table tonight. It was a Kickstarter that my friend backed called So Long, My World. The idea of the game is that the world is going to end in 12 hours, so you want to try to have the most fulfilling end of your life possible. I'll do a full gameplay review when I have more time, but the main takeaways from my session tonight were that the game is gorgeous, with great artwork, and it's also thematically very dark.
You can see some of the cards here. They stick pretty tightly with the black and white aesthetic.
Some of the text on the cards and in the rules didn't read quite right. I think it's largely a translation issue.
I really liked this game. It was a little slow to get started, but once we got the basic mechanics down it flowed pretty well. It's definitely one we want to try again.
Now that looks depressing. Beautiful, but depressing. I like the variety in the artwork, but a bad translation would drag me out of the game all the time.
I look forward to the full review.
I had '7th Continent' delivered last weekend - it's suffering from badly structured rulebook, but we seem to have got the hang of the basics and I'll post a review soon.
