Book Review: Small Wars by Lee Child
I recently read *Small Wars *by Lee Child. This is a short fiction book (about 1/3rd of the typical novel size), which fills in some gaps in the Jack Reacher saga, taking the reader back in time to 1989.
The short story brings the reader face to face with the murder of an individual with sensitive government information right at the beginning, while the remainder of the novel has Jack Reacher, from the Army’s Military Police division, working to solve the mystery behind the murder. The storyline moves quick, and gives hints as to Jack Reacher’s character and personality, though those who have read other Reacher novels will understand some of the nuances and quirks that are not elaborated on. In the end, Jack Reacher’s superior intuition and analytical abilities allow him to figure out what really happened… but what will he do once he knows? (you need to read to find out)
I enjoyed the short story, and give it a 4 out of 5 Steem.
It is a page turner and good entertainment, but I did feel the outcome was not unexpected and some parts seemed fairly predictable - to be fair though, it is probably like that for most books or movies being created these days. -Bonus steem nugget: I hid this secret nugget in the middle of this post to see who is reading this, so the first five people to reply to this post using the word “fantastic” in your reply will get a 20% upvote- Given it is a short book, it is well suited for those who do not have large amounts of time to read, but do need downtime here and there to unwind and be amused.

I read the latest release "Midnight Line". It was decent, but felt very predictable. I've read many of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series. I typically enjoy them, but for whatever reason, this one wasn't one of my favorites. There are so many better books in the series 👍
I'll check this out though. I've been trying to read the novels in chronological order (although I've definitely failed). I'm going to eventually read them all again because, as I said, I like the series 🙂

The crime stories, make us think and act as private investigator, tying loose ends. What you write about this book fills me with curiosity, and the narration is very interesting, the fantastic thing is that you mention that the outcome was predictable, and it is a crime of the highest governmental spheres, so fashionable these days, I imagine that Following the clues you will get to the culprit.
