Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Robert Pirsig. First Edition.
Here's a classic, and one that had a pretty profound impact on me as a young guy. It was the perfect blend of western and eastern philosophy, with a struggle for meaning, that I needed at the time. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is semi-autobiographical, chronicling a month-long motorcycle trip Robert Pirsig made with his young son, and is the first of his books to explore his Metaphysics of Quality. Incredibly, the manuscript was rejected by a staggering 121 publishers, prior to being picked up by Morrow in 1974. This is the first printing:

Hi Rare Book Sleuth,
This is indeed a fantastic book that all should read.
I read it some years ago as a teenager - I think I am ready to read it again to absorb even more of it's wisdom!
Upvoted and resteemed :D
It's a gem! Did you ever read the sequel, Lila?
Hi RBS,
Actually no - Thank you so much for the heads up! I will have to track that down.
Have a great day :D
