Hanging stone | Висячий камень
Two hundred kilometers from my house is the Ergaki nature park. This bizarre jumble of rocks, lakes and spurs resulting from the action of glaciers. The area of the park is more than three hundred forty thousand hectares and Ergaki has many natural attractions.
В двухстах километрах от моего дома находится природный парк Ергаки. Это причудливая смесь камней, озёр и отрогов возникшая в результате действия ледников. Площадь парка составляет более трехсот сорока тысяч гектаров, и в Ергаках множество природных достопримечательностей.
Today I will tell about one of the attractions Ergaki, about the Hanging Stone. At the top of the mountain, on an incline, a huge boulder is miraculously held.
Сегодня я расскажу об одной из достопримечательностей Ергаков, о Висячем Камне. На вершине горы, на наклонной поверхности каким-то чудом удерживается огромный валун.

Rising to the Hanging Stone has to overcome the pile of boulders.
Поднимаясь к Висячему камню приходится преодолеть нагромождение валунов.
But the goal was achieved, and we are near the Hanging Stone. My height is 180 centimeters, and I serve as a ruler to determine the scale.
Но вот цель достигнута и мы рядом с Висячим камнем. Мой рост 180 см. и я служу масштабной линейкой.

The stone is in contact with the inclined surface of the rock with a small area and it is not clear what force holds it in such an unstable position, it is also not clear what force threw this stone to the top of the rock.
Камень соприкасается с наклонной поверхностью скалы небольшой площадью, и не понятно, какая сила удерживает его в таком неустойчивом положении, также неясно, какая сила забросила этот камень на вершину скалы.

Вот кто-нибудь возьмет и уронит его.
Пытались, в начале девяностых даже домкраты наверх затаскивали, добились только того, что теперь камень неподвижен, а раньше его можно было руками покачать немного.
Да уж... дурней хватает.

Legend has it that when the Hanging Stone falls, the Sleeping Sayan awakens from the roar, and the End of the World comes ...
Sleeping Sayan, this is a mountain range, resembling the outlines of a sleeping man, if you look closely, you can see his head, nose and hands folded on his chest in the first photo ...

Holy moly! Now that's a boulder! It really fires your imagination, wondering how that came to be. I am very impressed that you climbed up there.
This place is considered a “weekend hike,” in the morning we went to Ergaki, which is 200 km., From a parking lot to a hanging stone, about 7 km. and returned home in the evening.
Good for you! That is a long hike when it is all steeply uphill!
When I was little and my father drove me to the Hanging Stone, everything was wild and secret, but now there are paths covered with stairs, stairs are installed, signs all around indicating where you are ... romance disappears ...
I hate that and the older I get, the more often it happens! The wilderness disappears a little more each day.
I fully share your feelings, but we cannot do anything here, modern life is trying to make a comfortable even the wildest corners ...
The same has happened here. Even the wildlife isn't wild any more. They have been fitted with ear tags, leg bands and radio collars so that they can be managed.
Life is the same everywhere...

Stunning scenery. That boulder is stubborn one isn't it. It actually looks to be part of the mountain beneath it is you follow the veining. Weathering could have eroded it to its current state. I could be wrong though.
