Bouldersunday
Hello Steemians
Welcome to the excellent #bouldersunday with
thanks to @shasta
This shot taken in the Italian Alps at 9,500' ASL.
Very little vegetation and very little soil leaves the ......
rocks exposed.
It is July and that is snow on the left side of the pic.
the earth surface of this enviroment may be due to a volcanic eruption
Those are some awesome high up boulders @karbon! What a grand
view they have! Amazing the eons of history that got them to this point!
Beautiful photos, thanks so much for sharing! :-)
The Alps started forming 30-40 million years ago...was really cool seeing the landscape, and you really noticed the thin air if you exerted yourself...One area they were skiing and it was July....
Wow pretty barren up there, how on earth did those bikes get up there?

There are ski lifts and gondolas all over, no way you could ride up all that way, unless you lived there and had adapted to the altitude. Most of our riding was downhill, and any small 100' climb was torture....lol
Rocky area that transmits the present temperature.
High above the tree line! That must have been an amazing ride. Great boulders!
Thank you! Not much oxygen up there... lol
Was probably the best trip ever....

Wow. I guess bicycle riding is strictly a seasonal activity there!
Yes, a very short season, it starts snowing in October..
