Happy Big Rock Day!
Orange lichens decorate
these medium sized boulders.
These stones are in
Homer Alaska, down
on the Spit.
They are part of a
rock wall, melting out of
the snow and ice.
Spring boulders
are sprouting out now!
Rocky ripples
pieces of stone.
Where lichens call home.
As the sun sets
on this boulder day.
We wish everyone the
best of boulder fun!
Clicking the photos makes them bigger
Click again zooms them in.
Show us your boulders
Large rocks are needed
roll them on over.
Must be your own photos!
Boulder location would be
great to know if possible.
Drop a link to your
boulder below so we
don't miss your post!

Hello @snowyknight! Good to see you!
Thank you! Rock and roll! :-)
Our rocks get mossy, but I don't see lichen like that unless I go to the northern part of the state. These are fantastic photos!
Thank you very much @melinda010100!
I wonder why these are orange, most are
a green, grey color. Will have to find the
time to figure out why lol
We get a extra magic moose hour this
weekend hehe
