Manny is the challenger here. He looks skinnier than in his past fights. He is the shorter fighter. Freddy Roach is not in the corner for the first time in 17 years.

Round 1

Both men are in the center trading jabs. Manny is slipping well and is the one controlling the pace and throwing combinations. Manny is walking Lucas down. Lucas is only throwing one punch at a time and when he throws combinations the is looping the right.

Round 2

Manny continues to throw up the middle as Lucas loops the right which Manny blocks easily. Manny continues to walk Lucas down. Lucas looks slow. Lucas throws a lazy jab and Manny zips in a right. Lucas is only throwing one punch at a time and they are either slow or looping. Manny goes over the top on the slow ones and zips in shots up the middle on the loopers.

Round 3

Manny throws a hard left upper cut that drops Lucas. Lucas is trying to recover as Manny walks him down. Manny continues to touch Lucas. The right jab is too quick for Lucas.

Round 4

Manny i moving well. Sliding in and out. The jab is controlling Lucas as Manny uses it to put Lucas where he wants him. Manny is getting out of the way of the majority of Lucas' punches. At the end of the round Manny picks up the pace as the speed and power are noticeably faster and harder.

Round 5

Manny looks great in the corner. Much better than in his other fights. Manny double jabs and drops the left. Lucas lands one jab. Manny goes back to the double jab straight left. They close the distance and butt heads twice.

Manny is going to the body this round. Lucas is only landing a jab now and then. Manny unleashes some jabs and Lucas takes a knee at the end of the round.

Round 6

This round is more of the same but the distance is closing. Lucas did more but Manny continues to out land Lucas. Lucas did land a low blow.

Round 7

Manny is much closer as they clinch. Lucas is doubling up on the jab now. Manny goes back to the double jab straight left. Manny is walking him down into Lucas' power. Manny steps in and unloads a left upper cut and Lucas is down and the fight is over as Lucas takes a knee and spits out his mouthpiece.

What is with these boxers quitting? Lucas' face looked fine. Manny just broke him mentally.

Manny gets his first KO in years. 60 wins and 39 KOs.

It's great to see Manny win his 11th World Championship.
