Well it happened again Gennady Golovkin falls victim to a controversial decision. Canelo Alvarez took a Majority Decision 115-113 115-113 114-114.

Many observers felt that GGG pulled it off again as he out landed Canelo 234-202. Alvarez had the advantage in body shots landed by a 46-8 margin and in power punches, 143-116.

Canelo was not as timid in this fight as both men wore the marks of war on their faces with cuts and bruises.

This marks the first time GGG has lost a fight and he was noticeably upset at the decision as he stormed out of the ring.

GGG hurt Canelo in Round 10, but this was not enough to sway the judges.

The problem is that unless GGG knocks you out his style does not appeal to people that are not fighters. They don't see the fine details of technique and accuracy that are a major part of GGG's game.

While I think GGG won the fight, and that a rematch would be classic, I find it hard to believe that the judges would see it his way unless he punishes Canelo, which does not seem likely.
