WBA super flyweight world champion, Khalid Yafai 26-0 15KOs, strolled to an easy unanimous points victory over mandatory challenger Norbelto Jimenez 29-9-4 16KOs, in what can only be described as a one-sided encounter, with the judges scoring it 119-107, 118-108 and 117-109 in favour of the retaining champ Yafai.

Jimenez, who was getting his second chance at a world title, struggled from the outset with Yafai's superior speed, footwork and all-round boxing ability, and had to resort to spoiling tactics in order to make it to the final bell.

A convincing win for the champ, should open previously closed doors to the bigger names in the division, and it couldn't come at a more opportune time. The marquee fighters, Roman Gonzales and Rungvisai are on the downslide end of their careers and are there for the taking, but Yafai should be fast about it, as he is now 30 years old and will soon be on the backend of his own career himself.
