Your brain is trying to show you the future and can save your life

Our brains are very good at filling the gaps when it comes to perception - often to the extent that we have the mental movie of the whole event before it starts to happen.

New research has shown that predicting the future of the "eye of the brain" occurs at a rate much greater than in reality. And we probably have received this ability to make up for our slow sense of vision.

Participants were asked to monitor the path of the white dot on the screen while researchers from Radboud University in the Netherlands have observed their brains with MRI.

First, the participants are watching the same animation 108 times. Then - random sequences of 24 different movements of the point.

Results showed that we have a way to visualize quite fast relatively simple movements, such as a ball that flies at our head for at least half the time it takes for the event to happen real.
