How many eyes can human brain handle?
Science has confirmed that your fifth-grade teacher, who constantly caught you in mischiefs without even looking back, could have another pair of eyes on the back of his head; although it does not seem necessary. And the brain would not have been the least disturbed by such a fantastic fact, and would have processed the information from the extra eyes. But how? Researchers' research has shown that our brain has no resource problems to handle a sufficient amount of visual information to provide a 360 degree steady view.
The experiments on the subject were conducted by a team of Tokohu University in Japan and the scientists wanted to check how far we can increase the amount of information that comes from our eyes to build a mental picture of our environment. The results have shown unequivocally that all 29 volunteer participants are quickly building a mental model for the environment behind and sideways covering the full 360 degrees. And this with only two eyes, not five or ten.
