We are all fisherpeople of life, We cast out our line and more often we catch an old boot. Sometimes we catch something else tho. there are times we catch what we are chasing. Those are the times, that makes all those failed attempts worthwhile. Each cast is an opportunity, it may or it may not bring something home and when it does it might not be what you wanted it to be.

Opportunities come our way each day. If we do not see them it does not mean the opportunity was not there. These are called missed-opportunities. Some opportunities we see and do not take advantage of are also missed-opportunities, (the one that got away) other times they are called lucky escapes. Searching for an opportunity can be a fruitless endeavour. Leaving you chasing too many opportunities and catching none. If your attention is too divided or concentrated on finding that next great big break. You are probably missing the magic that is right under your nose.

Unfortunately, an opportunity is not free. In many circumstances, opportunity comes at a greater cost than can be seen before taking that opportunity. Prevention of opportunity I think is often put in place by the control of finance over others. It is not just the way the world works, it is the way a few run the world. opportunity should be in abundance. There should be more opportunity there than there are people to take them. You should be able to take an opportunity mess it up, go back and get another opportunity. In return you could leave some notes on the opportunity you did not succeed with and the next to try can gain from your experience. Even in what does not succeed a greater opportunity can be found later. Working together we remove limitations.

So, here we are now. A bunch of fruitloops in the cereal bowl of Steemit, What opportunities are here for us now?
I had a conversation with @Calumam the other night, We were talking on voice, so I do not think he would mind me to share. Something @calumam had said gave me a window an opportunity to say how short a time the group was up and how quick we grew. How I try to take advantages of things I see to get rewards for group members. (and to some parts I did)
I took a different opportunity presented to me at the time, I had a choice of two that I could see before me. I took the opportunity to learn. I listened to what @Calumam was saying and absorb the meaning of what he was saying.
An opportunity to learn might be the best opportunity ever.

When opportunity knock's, which door do we answer?

Never thought of it that way but you certainly have a point here. I have always thought that the day you quit learning will be a sad day. 'You learn something new everyday' is so true; It can be something small but it's still something new. When we are kids we see learning as a chore, it's funny how things change as we get older... this was great @jan23com... thanks for sharing!!

Yes, that last sentence got me as well.

Looking back, the opportunities I've jumped at have always been to learn something new. But it's slowed down somewhat and focused on my interests, goals and time.

Weeding through the opportunities to pick the one we want to go with is so important.

Good one @jan23com.

Thank you and I will take this opportunity to say, If you have not visited @dustsweeper do so and this less than a penny vote can pay out for you

Oh yes, I haven't looked into it as yet. Thank you for the reminder! ;)

This would be really great. Made me think of a game walkthrough where you get help on how to pass some parts that are not very obvious.

In retrospect, a person will always be able to identify "which" opportunity you took, even with pros and cons weighed in the moment this is not always as apparent.

Taking the opportunity to learn means being provided more information that might help in unexpected ways in the future. That is also why I might say learning if done right is not just a case of opportunity but should be seen as a necessity in your daily life, yes technically they are opportunities to learn but calling them that is like handing out loser trophies, pats on the back for nothing accomplished.

The opportunity is what stems from learning.

I think this may have turned into a disagreement, and this is not so, I agree with everything you said and it all makes perfect sense. Really great post and thank you again for joining Drop in the Ocean.
