A very very interesting fact

Today I learned that the title of "the tallest building in the world" once moved from tall building to lower building, then to an even lower building, and then again and again - a total of 4 times.

Between 1569 and 1647, a succession of disasters occurred in the world's tallest buildings. Time after time, the tallest building in the world collapsed or burned, and as a result the peak of "maximum height of building in the world" went down instead of rising.

It was only over 300 years later that a high enough building was built again to unify the record of "the tallest building at the moment" with the climax of "the tallest building ever."
