Neolix Is First To Start Mass Producing Robovans
Robot delivery vehicles have already started bringing food and other items to people around California, Germany, London, and other regions.
For Neolix, a Chinese startup, they're now engaged in mass producing autonomous vehicles that are expected to be ready by next year (see image above). They are reportedly the first company in the world to start mass production on their self-driving delivery vehicles.
They are hoping to have at least 1,000 of those vehicles ready within the first year alone.
The robovan Neolix is working on allegedly costs around $30,000 and they expect that the path to getting mass adoption of those robovans on the road is going to be relatively easy, at least easier than self-driving cars they suspect.
A number of companies have been working on creating last-mile delivery robots, including those like Walmart and Ford, and the delivery robot market is expected to see massive expansion over the next several years.
They won't be delivering just pizza either, as a variety of companies in this space are looking to implement this technology in areas like healthcare, hospitality, retail, and more.

And, while it is wonderful to see advances being made, it also means cost effectiveness with no wages being paid to workers. I always feel a little sad when technology takes over from people doing their jobs.

Sorry, I was on different thinking about delivery driving jobs. Just thinking too of the many unemployed wanting jobs.
and then there are some driving companies who cannot find people to take jobs they have, they are desperate for drivers.. some of them are offering hiring bonuses that are thousands of dollars to try and attract people.. gotta find the opportunity 👍😊
maybe this will mark the end of the menacing scooter riders that are rushing to deliver food.
