Step 4.

SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE

In order to become the master of your craft, there comes a point when you will need to ruthlessly (and continuously) strip away the non-essentials. Simplify your life so that it's easy and natural to gain focus, clarity and avoid unnecessary stress and drama.

Wise people tend to avoid or reduce situations that are likely to be overly stressful and dramatic, whereas others will walk right into overly stressful and dramatic situations and wonder, "Why does this always happen to me?"

You only have so much time and energy to work within this one lifetime - when you realize the truth of your mortality (you are going to die!) you will stop fooling around with your precious time and energy and instead put it into things that nourish and support you and your work.

It can be helpful to work out what the top 3-4 priorities are in your life and design your lifestyle around them. Every single day, chip away at those priorities and any extra time or energy you have, consider them as extracurricular activities only. If you consistantly hit those 3-4 priorities for days, weeks or months, you will cultivate a strong, clear & confident energy within you.

Every decision you have to make takes a certain amount of your "Qi" energy. Therefore, if you design a lifestyle that reduces the amount of trivial decisions you need to make, you will have more decision "Qi" power available that you can use for your craft and those priorities most important to you.

Consistency of practice and daily routines are also going to be incredibly helpful when becoming a true master, not only of your craft, but of your self.
