Hello my Smoothie and Juice loving friends. Tomorrow is Friday!

I know the weekend has already started for many of you, but for those of you who are still hard at work!

Have a juice!

Speaking of the weekend….Don’t forget Sunday is Mother’s Day!

Make sure you give a special hug, or shout out to that special Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Friend!

It’s juice time!

Today our Spotlight ingredient is the Raspberry! Raspberries are a tasty fruit with many health benefits.

  • Help with weight loss- high in fiber they slow down the digestion process, making you feel fuller longer
  • A great anti-wrinkle fruit! High in vitamin C!
  • Macular Degeneration- By having 3 servings of raspberries per day, raspberries can be a natural remedy to this serious degeneration of the retina.
  • Raspberries are full of antioxidants, an ellagic acid which stops cell membrane damage, thus preventing some bacterial and fungal infections . Some studies have even shown Raspberries contain cancer resistant properties.
  • Especically good fruit for pregnant and lactating mothers! Reducing nausea during pregnancy and increasing milk production post pregnancy. Raspberry teas made from the raspberry leaves work to help regulate menstrual cycles.

Rockin’ Raspberry Ginger Juice Smoothie!

Made with these wonderful fruits and vegetables!

Ingredients

  • Raspberries
  • Cucumber
  • Lemon
  • Spinach
  • Fresh Ginger
  • Red Beet (and leaves!)
  • Granny Smith Apple

Preparation
Wash all fruit and vegetables well! I try to buy local, organic fruits and vegetables! Peel and chop as needed for you blender or juicer.

Voila! Enjoy!

Oh wait, if you used a juicer, don't throw out that juice pulp!!! You can make Pancakes, bread, crackers, add to soups, freeze as ice cubes to use later! Check out some of my earlier posts for recipe ideas! I'll share more on that later too!

Oh I loooooovvvee raspberries. This looks yum. I grew two whole long rows of raspberries just to pick them myself!!

Thank you, thank you! I do too! And to know how healthy they are!!! I am so jealous...you have your own....I used to roam the neighborhood forests and pick the wild blackberries.... You'll have to share your juice or smoothie when you make it!

That will be Christmas!!!! It's easing into Winter here....
