Well, well, well... things sure do change fast in the land of STEEM.

A Brief History of Dice

When @PlayDice started, all rewards were paid out in SDB (and 0 STEEM), then the print rate of SBD started dropping and some rewards were being paid out in STEEM... so I decided to give away that STEEM as SBI shares. Barely a few weeks later, the SBD vs STEEM rewards payouts were such that very little SBD was being generated and paid out, so I switched the game payouts and announce last week that STEEM rewards would go to winners and SBD portion used to buy SBI shares. Well... not even 48 hrs after that announcement the SBD print rate dropped to 0... and so for the week that just passed we generated 0.fuckall SBD... not even enough for 1/2 an SBI share :-)

So What Now?

This could all change with hard-fork 20 print rate changes (due next month if I'm not mistaken), and who knows what's gonna happen with both SBD and STEEM below US$1 as I type this and flip-flopping between an un-pegged "pegged SBD" value.

Chances are good though that the minimum upvote for each game will be dropped even further below the current 0.004 STU that it is currently. The aim is to keep the newbie spammer bot accounts from scooping up any rewards... not preventing plankton & minnows from cashing out.

All I know is this:
Whatever happens, I'll find the best way to make sure all the liquid post rewards from @PlayDice's games end up in the hands of the players (and exclude as many of the bots & spammers as possible).
 

*BTW In case you didn't realise that was a joke: The graph is actually an illustration of "deterministic chaos" and was lifted from skepticalscience.com. Most of the time I'm talking out of my ass, and you can assume I'm doing so ALL the time when I'm giving out financial advice ;-)

The more people we have playing the more rewards there are for payouts. If/WHEN we become really popular, I'll up my external investment in Bid Bots for each game as well. WOOOHOOO!

P.s. Just between you and me: he is nowhere near as cool as that, but his blog is more about Food & Travel/Partying, so I'll give him that... it does make more sense to chat about "Steemit Stuff" over here instead. Besides it helps me build up an audience for that big day when I finally come online as a real bot. YAY ME!
