Sepia Saturday: cityscape photos by the river, ภาพซีดๆริมแม่นํ้า

This is my entry for #sepiasaturday hosted by @old-guy-photos. The weather has turned humid and hot again in Bangkok. So, I am aiming for the river photography again to cool myself down.

At the Sathorn Pier in Bangkok, a family of Easterners seems to have a monopoly to busker at this spot! Last year, it was the young girl in high school uniform playing the same instrument! This year, the father sends his youngest daughter who must be under ten years ‘ old to perform at the pier! I bet this musical family is making good income from this profession.

Sathorn Pier is usually very busy as this is where tourists can hop on free boat ride to IconSiam, a luxurious shopping center by the river, or free ride to Asiatique, an old warehouse turned into huge complex of restaurants and boutique shops. For the former destination, the boat would be heading to the right-hand side of the river. For warehouse pier, the boat would be heading towards the left-hand side. Either direction, tourists will be bound to enjoy themselves walking by the river fronts.

วันนี้แดดกลับมาร้อนจัด ทำให้เราต้องพึ่งแม่น้ำเพื่อความผ่อนคลาย ที่ท่าเรือสาทรจะมีครอบครัวเดียวที่มาเล่นเพลงอีสานเปิดหมวกเป็นเวลาต่อเนื่องมายาวนาน ปีที่แล้วทั้งปีคนที่เล่นพิณเป็นเด็กวัยรุ่นในชุดนักเรียน ปีนี้ดูเหมือนว่าบิดาให้ลูกสาวคนเล็ก อายุไม่เกินสิบขวบมาเล่นพิณเปิดหมวกแทนพี่สาว เขาคงเช่าสถานที่กันเป็นปี เพราะเราไม่เห็นคนอื่นมาเล่นดนตรีที่นี่เลย เราคิดว่าเขาคงทำรายได้ดีมากในแต่ละเดือน ที่นี่มีนักท่องเที่ยวมาชึ้นลงเรือเป็นประจำ และเขายังขายเทปเพลงและตุ๊กตาอีกด้วย

ถ้าเราอยากไปไอคอนสยามก็ให้ขึ้นเรือฟรี ที่มุ่งหน้าไปทางขวามือ เพื่อไปเดินช็อปปิ้งในห้างสุดหรูที่มีแอร์เย็นมากๆ และของแบรนเนมทั้งนั้น แต่ถ้าจะไปเอเซียทิคก์ก็ให้ขึ้นเรือฟรี ที่มุ่งหน้าไปทางซ้ายมือ ที่นั่นก็มีร้านอาหารนานาชาติให้เลือก และมีร้านขายของเหมือนกับตลาดนัดจตุจักรเป็นร้อยๆร้าน ไม่ว่าจะไปทางทิศใด เราก็จะได้เดินเล่นชมวิวริมแม่น้ำ ฟังเสียงลมพัดคลื่นนํ้ากระทบฝั่ง และอาจจะได้ถ่ายรูปพระอาทิตย์ตกดินอีกด้วย
