[Introduction of Korean cities] Yeongju

This time I will introduce Korea.

This time I will take the place called Yeongju in Korea.

◎ Location & history

---

• Yeongju is a city in northern Gyeongsangbuk-do in Korea. The northern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do province has been famous as a center for the education of scholars since the Joseon Dynasty and has many educational facilities.

◎ Sightseeing spots

---

• Sosuseowon: Today it is a private university. You can see a pine field with hundreds of years old trees. And old, but old educational facilities can be seen.

• Museom Village: This is a family village with well preserved old houses. It has the charm of being able to see not only the houses but also the wonderful riverside.

• Buseoksa: This is an old Buddhist facility, which boasts a structure in harmony with nature in the mountainside. When you enjoy nature scenery, you feel refreshed.

◎ Specialties & Festivals

• This place is famous for apples and ginseng. So the city holds a ginseng festival once a year.

• And the azalea blooming around Sobaek Mountain is very spectacular, so the azalea festival is also a good sightseeing spot.
