Flags of the World #22: Bosnia and Herzegovina!
Welcome! To the return of my Flag series! This time with more flags and hopefully less delays! Without further ado! Lets start to learn stuff education, even in the smallest things, its the path to enlightenment and I'm pretty sure we all love light don't we! Maybe one day you can use the knowledge about flags you learn here at some random conversation with someone and they will believe you are pretty smart! right? no? ok... sorry... maybe?
Instead of flag wars, everyone should come here and learn about real flags! Flag wars give a bad name to all flags in general and that makes me sad! Flags are love! Flags are life!
Today's Flag is the Flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina!
The Bosnian flag! Such an especial and different flag from all the others so far! The flag consists of a blue background with a yellow isosceles triangle, in the hypotenuse of the triangle (simple trigonometry as Moira would say) there are 7 full stars and 2 half stars at the top and the bottom.

Meanings
The blue background is derived from the flag of Europe and blue is also considered a color that represents neutrality.
The triangle represents the shape of the country (If you look really really hard, it kinda looks like it i guess?)
The three corners of the triangle represent the peoples that inhabit the nation, Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs. The yellow color of the triangle is also used to represent neutrality.
The stars are also representing Europe and its countries, the stars at the top and the bottom are meant to show that the stars go on forever, infinite stars!

Well with this one you can clearly see the shape of the country! This flag was proposed along side the current flag and the current one was chosen for obvious reasons, its way better, but don't tell me the triangle looks just like the country!

This flag was used when Bosnia got annexed into the Austro-Hungarian Empire, they where previously a province of the Ottoman Empire.

Flag of the Bosnian SR during the time the country was in a union with neighboring countries, better know as Yugoslavia.
Facts
The nickname of the country is "Heart Shaped Land" (I thought they wanted it to be a triangle? now they say its a heart? get your shape straight Bosnia!)
Bosnia comes from an Indo-European word "Bosana" which means water!
The country has 3 official languages, Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian but everyone considers them to be the same languages because they are really similar, but don't tell them that!

Bosnia is located in South Eastern Europe in the region known as the Balkan Peninsula, even though it looks like the country is land-locked, it is not! They actually have a small 20 km coastline!

I was thinking of adding more information about the countries, but that would basically mean going off topic, since i'm supposed to be talking about flags and not the country itself!
