Behind each difficulty there is an apprenticeship

There are life events that cannot be explained at the time they occur. We ask ourselves, "Why is this happening to me?", "Why me?", "What have I done to deserve this?". The key is in our attitude.

Reading a little about the life of Viktor Frankl, who was in a Nazi concentration camp and left strengthened and with great teachings to convey, he tells us that all suffering will have some meaning if he stops learning; otherwise it will have been in vain. The suffering will depend on the attitude we have towards the circumstances surrounding that situation. And learning will come because of recognizing the personal enrichment that the situation gives us.

That great resilience that Frankl had during the stay in the concentration camp is quite like what Venezuelans have shown that we are capable of. Now we are just waking up from the great nightmare we had for 5 days without electricity and all the chaos that brought to the country.
Resilience be the ability or aptitude of some individuals to overcome adversity. However, many times the individual does not know that he has this ability and discovers it when he is in a hard situation, in which he manages to have a strong attitude of getting ahead and moving on. It means that resilience is synonymous with strength, invulnerability, resistance, among others.

Resilience, in the field of psychology, is the ability we all must face our own problems, face obstacles and not break under pressure, regardless of the situation. It is the capacity of an individual to overcome periods of emotional shocks and traumas. It roughly corresponds to the term "integrity".
In very difficult moments like the ones we went through, we should ask ourselves "what else can you do that you have not done before?", Or "what is it that only you can do and why you should stay here and leave strengthened to Do it when all this has already happened?" It is simply to find meaning to suffering, is to know that behind it there is an apprenticeship and that if I discover it, it will have been worth the suffering.

If I allow circumstances to absorb me or I become diluted in everyday problems, I lose perspective of the situation. To illustrate it better I leave you something written by the Jesuit Anthony De Mello: "... I propose to your consideration the following parable of life: a bus loaded with tourists traverses a beautiful region full of lakes, mountains, rivers and meadows. But the curtains of the windows of the bus are closed, and the tourists, who have no idea what is outside, spend the trip discussing who should applaud, who is the worthiest of consideration ... And so, continue to the end of the trip."
It is evident that we are human beings and that "our egos" are alive. It is natural and healthy to aspire, but we cannot allow them to rob us of the opportunity to enjoy the present moment or make us so selfish that we forget about the other, which can be affected by our actions.
I want to end this post with an affirmation, and that is that for more land that throw us nothing can take us away from our solidary essence, our cheerful and optimistic spirit, being a dreaming being (we are characterized excellence), and ultimately making from this moment a space of preparation for better moments that are to come. And remember that God only gives three answers to our requests:

  1. Yes
  2. Not yet
  3. I have something better prepared for you.

My dear Venezuelans do not decay, we must move forward as all these years we have risen from our misfortunes.
