Many time we here about the fact that when things are challenging in any venture or market, things will get worse before they get better. We live in a society that has created the practice of following the herd. Whereas in 2017 and early 2018 the herd was focused on buy any and every cryptocurrency that was available which overextended prices in the market, we now are experiencing the exact opposite as more and more decide to sell and give up on the technology. We are now in the phase of seeing the impacts of these factors to the underlying infrastructure to the ecosystem. We now see the importance of living within your means as the costs of running this great ecosystem become increasingly challenged due to the prices of the cryptocurrencies.

While this will continue to impact the environment of engagement around the ecosystem, it will also allow the community to come together and share strong ties as they build solutions to progress under the needed adjustments that will be made. One of the larger challenges will be how will we be able to grow engagement in an environment that is free to participate despite having underlying costs. This may come by way of lower rewards which may deter some from engaging but the reality is that we have already experienced this as the price has collapsed over the last year. If we need to sacrifice some of our rewards in terms of adding beneficiaries to our rewards, so be it. The ultimate goal should be creating a long term sustainable model for the ecosystem to grow and benefit all stakeholders involved: witnesses, developers, content creators, and curators. Notice that I did not include investors... This is because we are all investors in this ecosystem. Whether it be fiat, crypto or time; we all invest something here and will need to continue to do so to build the foundation of value towards the future.

I am currently reflecting on how I allocate my investment here in the future. As I will share my thoughts and its process in a future post, I am thinking more of how to invest in #STEEM by investing in others. While I am getting my head around this concept and how to make it relevant to growth, I made an immediate decision to support purposely the onboarding of new users as I have been trying to do in these weekly posts. This is why I decided to support the @fundition project launched by @steemonboarding this week. As the community continues to experience attrition, the need for improved retention becomes more important to sustain the value creation on the ecosystem. I look forward to seeing this project progress and contribute to the onboarding and retention of new users that will create value.

The following are this week’s curated #introduceyourself posts from new Steemians! Please consider providing them a visit to help them onboard and provide them with motivation towards the future:

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@kyrill/project-kyrill-cryptocurrency-based-open-world-mmorpg-ba00b7ef59ad2est

@kyrill is a blockchain based game being developed by a small team that will look to build on the STEEM blockchain to take advantage of the community based creations of other projects. The intend to take and adventure type approach where you explore the world in search of items for battling, crafting and even trading. Their team is still small but they want to leverage the STEEM community to seek resources and talent for development of the game. Given the success of @steemmonsters, this could be another great project to be built on our great ecosystem.

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@microguy/here-to-write-about-my-crypto-travels

@microguy was an interesting profile as it show he has been here since 2016 but just introduce himself. He say his is a Crypto enthusiast and has been writing about blockchain and cryptocurrencies since before Coinmarketcap even existed! He is currently working with two projects and intends to share his experiences with crypto with the community here on STEEM. Given the recent market challenges, I think it is great to get perspectives from someone who has been through previous market cycles in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@citizenrod/one-small-step-for-citizenrod

@citizenrod is an Industrial designer with an IT background that has integrated his skillset with art. Among a number of things he has always wanted to do was to start a blog and given his excitement for cryptocurrencies since 2016, he wanted to combine these passions to try engaging here on STEEM. He also has experience with app creation as he has created an app called Maate that connects people with skills like electricians and plumbers with those in your network of friends in an effort to find these services through word of mouth. He intends to share his experiences as well as his art with the STEEM community.

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@motivationfeed/we-are-motivation-feed

@motivationfeed is an interesting new account as they intend to post daily quotes with image to serve as motivation for the community. As the ecosystem continues to expand I believe that there is room for these types of short content driven posts similar to instagram. While I think they would benefit from DApps like @dlike or @zappl, I hope they would discover them as part of their learning process. Another reason I chose them for the curation post is that they have taken advantage of the prices and have acquired STEEM to power up which is an example of what we need more of, even for new users just starting here in the ecosystem.

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform. I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.

Have there been any new users you have found that I can pay a visit to? How can we continue to support new users in order to manage their expectations coming to this new platform? I look forward to your thoughts and feedback in the comments below!

Nice, fundition is a good initiative. I'm already apart for so many others, but this one is solid too. Lord knows I have seen so many come and go.

Many types of projects on onboarding but this one seems different given the amount the have put up to start!
