Week 19: #introduceyourself Curation Post

It seems that everyone, including the team at Steemit, Inc. have come back from the Holidays and have started to slowly come into the ecosystem. Steemit Inc continues to lead on opening new accounts despite the reduced staff. As I curated content from introductions this week, I did notice an increase in both quantity and quality. I would suspect they correlate but was happy to see a number of new posts with pictures and good presentations. Also, during yesterday’s State of Steem Radio Show Forum, you could continue to see the attention that the community wants to spend on ensuring that onboarding become easier and more driven towards value creation. In fact, we also saw that @steem.ninja was also launched which have now provided a way for external users interested in joining the ecosystem to sign up using fiat as well. This continues to gather great momentum as models continue to be develop to welcome new Steemians and provide them with the resources needed to become successful.

Of course, @steemonboarding also continues to move forward with their project as the infrastructure is being built for the community and by the community. They recently asked for some feedback regarding important topics to include in their onboarding strategy and I was happy to see how well aligned most of the community is regarding some that are deemed imperative for the success of new users. For example, @soyrosa included some suggestions regarding the inner economy of Steem and how the blockchain can been analyzed for data and trends. These topics go along way past the basic definitions that are often only provided to new users when they ultimately join via Steemit. I am confident that the passion of the community and the founding members behind the project will do a great job which will add value to the process.

As @sndbox continues to support the @steemonboarding initiative, they continue to promote it via a weekly post on Wednesday where you can introduce somebody in the comments section as win rewards for both accounts. I continue to participate as I curate the #introduceyourself tag weekly and provided the following submission this week:

@spiritualrebel is a young mother from Australia that seeks to question the paradigm indoctrinated by society for centuries and look towards balance for our beings in bothe the physical and mental state. She also shared a video as part of her introduction which is encouraging as diversity in content is something great to see as a content consumer here in the ecosystem. She hopes to share her experiences and knowledge as she has no problem challenging the status quo.

@rubberduckiemom has caused all the sensation this week with her funny introduction! She loves the humor in life and often leaves it to her to makes other laugh at her expense (although she categorizes it as fun). As she demonstrates on the pictures she shares, she enjoys making funny faces and it seems as they come natural for her at this point. One of her favorited things to do is pose with statues and you may guess it, make funny faces! I love the personality and the potential she brings to the community as she has definitely caught the attention of many.

@samaipo369 is a new user that is passionate in a numbers things like fantasy, technology, visual arts, and poetry. While drawn to the ecosystem by cryptocurrency, he seems to want to share more about arts as image for the posts and avatar suggests. I really enjoyed the formatting he did for his post as I still feel it is one of my own limiting factors and like to see new user come in with that completely figured out. He also shared how he came up with the username as it include a symbol of “compassion, idealism, creative expression, and tolerance” which I think he will find well in certain communities around the ecosystem.

@modelmayhem is a young photographer with aspirations to continue learning the art. She loves photoshoots and thinks that they could also be great content to share in vlogs as the behind-the-scenes are quite interesting. Despite starting to get away from centralized social media, she wants to explore the potential of blockchain technology through the Steem ecosystem. She also has her own website which is always an indication of interest in sharing her work and experiences.

@ctrlalt is the Community Manager for another recent addition to the ecosystem, @stateofthedapps. She joined the project after 10 year in production and event management which included some blockchain events. She works directly with developers to ensure proper communications with their project as they are presented on the website. She has been amazed by the growth of DApp ecosystems which drew her to the industry. It will be great to see how her engagement can help inspires the many communities we have in the ecosystem.

I enjoyed @alpena’s introduction post as she does animations which I have always enjoyed in my life. She has demonstrated some of these animations on her blog which shows the great ways content creators can create here in the ecosystem. She also make her own soaps so while I know there is a crafting community here, that is something you do not see every day! She finds her passion in creation as she takes photos and makes movies as well and given her enjoyment of playing Role Playing Board games, you can probably consider some of the interesting content that can come from that. I look forward to what interesting things we could see from this new Steemian.

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform. I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.
