Put a line between humility and subservient attitude
It is a very nice thing to be humble, but submitting your will totally to another person has no honour in it.
There is honour in humility. Humility exalts all her disciples, but subservient attitude repels and makes you a foot mat to many. So what is the difference between humility and subservient attitude? Let's start by defining both.
What Is Humility
Humility is the quality of being humble. What does it mean to be humble? It means not proud, arrogant or haughty... Wikipedia.
Remember it has other definitions. But I choose to go with this. Now over to subservient attitude.
What does it mean to have a subservient attitude?
To be subservient is to be willing to do what other people want, or considering your wishes as less important than those of other people. It also means to obey people unquestioningly... Dictionary
Sometimes people want you to become subservient to them and not necessarily humble. Always remember to give yourself respect and honour you deserve. Never be proud or arrogant. But never bow into becoming subservient.

In the process of been subservient or too much subservient, you tend to hurt yourself and your desire. In terms of humility, you tend to grow yourself. Follow the path of humility and not the path of subservient.

I don't think there's any benefit being subservient at all.
Probably there may be but the benefit compare to the effect to oneself.
People tend to beneift from one been susbservient but not oneself benefiting from it
I always tell people that humility doesn't imply stupidity. Some people lose their sanity and dignity all in the cause of trying to be humble and please others. Thank you for clarifying this in the simplest way possible.

According to Robert Green, If you allow people to feel they possess you to any degree, you lose all power over them.
To me there's a very fine line between humility or loyalty and subservience.

So many people having subservient attitude failed to actualize their potential because they are comfort being a second fiddle to their employers and masters and think they are only being humble. If only they knew, if only age could. I remain my humble self @comclick
