It was a case of foolishness of a foolish heart. In one of the schools in the city, an immoral male teacher was making dirty advances to a female student. This student, Lovina, knew quite well that randy teacher was out to destroy her.

Lovina initially refused the enticement of the amorous teacher who invited her over his office and home several ties. When the WASSCE was fast approaching as Lovina was SSS 3, the students were instructed to come to the school for exposition to their science practical. That, they did for few days.

This dirty teacher, Mr Patrick happened to be the chemistry master. He craftily and subtly told his prey, Lovina and her friend to accompany him and his colleague to go for the chemicals in the town. Oh! Lovina, not being sensitive and wise foolishly and sheepishly agreed and they all went to the town in Mr Patrick’s car.

When they got to the town, one thing led to another, Mr Patrick perfected his evil plan smartly and drugged the bottle of mineral which was meant for Lovina. The unsuspecting Lovina drank it and that was the last thing she could recall. Mr Patrick’s colleague and the other female students went their ways.

Lovina woke up after several hours and found out that she was naked in a hotel room. The evil deed has been done in her unconsciously. Everything lost within minutes.

That was not the end of the devil’s finger, because after medical examination, Lovina was confirmed to be pregnant as a result of that ‘one time thing’. Lovina’s parents did not approve aborting the baby; she had to drop out of school due to pregnancy. She could not write the external examination (WASSCE). She became an object of mockery. Her future was destroyed. The demonic teacher, who after investigation was discovered that he was married, was arrested. But, all that is frivolous as the evil seed had already been sown.

Lovina became an expecting mother overnight, from a student to a mother at her teen age. She bore and still bears the shame. She became a caricature. She brought disgrace to herself and her family.

Who is to be blamed? Answer for yourself. Why can’t girls be wise and keep themselves? Why can’t girls ‘shine their eyes’ in the evil world? Why must they learn from their own mistakes? The Bible says my people perish because of lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6, Isaiah 5:15).

Yes, Lovina has a baby boy as you read this letter. She has become a second hand, a ‘tokumbo’ and ‘an after one’. Be wise! Be sensitive! Shun evil friends. Avoid randy immoral cheaters called teachers.
