Local organizations to build electricity transmission line BD

For the first time, domestic institutions are taking part in the construction of high power power transmission lines.

NN Builders and Confidence Steel will build 32 kilometer long 132 kilowatt (KV) transmission line jointly. Through the bidding process they have been appointed contractors of this project.

This line will be established from Mymensingh's Bhaluka to Sreepur of Gazipur. Earlier, the need to rely on foreign companies to build electricity transmission line.

The agreement was signed with Power Grid Company of Bangladesh-PGCB in capital Dhaka on Thursday. PGCB company secretary said. Ashraf Hossain and NN Builders Director Anarul Islam signed the contract.

The government-owned BR Powerjen Company is building a 150-megawatt power plant at Sreepur. The new transmission line is being installed to bring the electricity produced in this center to the Bharuka grid. BR Parejen will bear the cost of construction. The cost will be around Tk 58 crore
