Auditorium Building In Seonwun-sa Temple, Korea.

As passing through the Sarira Stupa area, I entered into the main building area in Seonwun-sa.

The main gate had an authoritative appearance., Unlike other main gates It was build on the high fountain.

Through the main gate, I could see the stone lantern standing in the center of the temple.
The scene seen through the gate was so awesome. This kind of scene could be said as a representative Korean traditional atmosphere. Now, it became not common to see that kind of scene in contemporary Korea
The lantern was dividing the space of the temple exactly half and half.

The first building waiting for me at first was the auditorium. The auditorium in Seonwun-sa temple was larger than that of Naeso-sa temple.
Seonwon-sa and Naeso-sa were fired by the Japanese army during the invasion of 1592 - 1597.
Both temples were reconstructed in late Choson dynasty after the Japanese invasion.

So if you look at the typical architecture of late Choson Dynasty, Seonwun-sa and Naeso-sa could be the best option.

Of course there were differences between Seonwun-sa and Naeso-sa temple from the aesthetic point of view.
In Naesosa, natural surroundings were the important element in building the temple. So it seemed important to look at and enjoy the harmony and the balance between the temple buildings and the natural environment of the temple.
Unlike Naeso-sa temple, when Seonwun-sa temple was built, the environment seemed to be not considered as much as Naeso-sa temple.

The place of Seonwun-sa temple was much larger than that of Naeso-sa temple.
So, the buildings had more important meaning in Seonwun-sa temple.

Buildings in Seonwun-sa were little in larger place than Naeso-sa temple.

The first building after passing through the main gate was the auditorium.
It was much larger than that of Naeso-sa temple posted in previous.

The auditorium was well colored and there were no walls in the auditorium.
In Korean traditional buildings, the walls had no meaning in supporting the weight of the roof as like western buildings.
The Pilars of the building were supporting the building. So you cannot see the any walls in the auditorium.
The column of the auditorium was not straight as same as other temple buildings built in the late Choson Kingdom.
This irregularity of the materials of the architecture presented some mysterious aesthetic beauty for us

The auditorium was using as a tea caffe. Anybody could sit in the auditorium and make a tea in the auditorium.

At the center of the auditorium, there was the altar. It looked gorgeous.

It seemed that the auditorium of Seonwun-sa was the one of the largest in Korean Temple, in my guess.
