Among overflowing blockchain related news, I will introduce five news as ordinary man in 30s who is interested to blockchain and cryptocurrency.

NO.1 Bithumb postponed Pop Chain(PCH) Listing on Its Exchange Market.

As I finished my posting yesterday, the story about Bithumb's Pop Chain listing was coming up as a hot issue. I gave up to find out what happened because It was too late to find out more about it. Today, as I prepare for today’s posting after work, I found out that Bithumb postponed Pop Chain listing on its exchange market. I was surprised about how Korean cryptocurrency investors are mature or good at understanding what each of cryptocurrency is. Few months or even few weeks ago, when a new cryptocurrency was going for listing on certain crypto exchange market, I remember that everybody was investing for a short time for the listing pumping. It did not matter what the new cryptocurrency was. However, this time, many people tried hard to find info about when it was issued, who made it, token wallet, ICO price, and its Github activities. Finally, they came up with the idea of Pop Chain could be a scam somehow, and told people about their finding in the related communities such as steemit.

In the posting yesterday, we discussed about the suspicion of the upbit’s book transaction, saying, 'I want to be a trustworthy exchange and I will post financial report for the second half of 2017! I could not stop laughing at Bithumb.' But I did not let you down and Bithumb did it. In April, I heard about Kyber Network’s (KNC) listing in Bithumb, and I moved my KNC coins to Bithumb in order to sell them in Bithumb. Yet, I did not sell it and I am waiting for moving my KNC coins from Bithumb to my personal wallet again, but they are not supporting withdrawal.

I personally did not trust Bithumb as crypto exchange market, so I was not disappointed for this issue. However, I was impressed by Korean investors who worked hard to find out what Pop Chain is and I am feeling great by the fact that Korean crypto investors are becoming more and more mature.

NO.2 Circle and Bitmain Are Planning to Launch Dollar Guaranteed Cryptocurrency.

Circle, a US digital asset platform invested by Goldman Sachs, has invested $ 111 million in funding led by China-based mining specialist Bitmain. With this funding, the Circle has also announced plans to issue a 'Circle USD' or USDC token, which is a dollar-guaranteed cryptocurrency with Bitmain. The Circle Pay app, the Circle Trade OTC Exchange and the Polonics Exchange will feature USDC functionality, with about 7 million members.

Goldman Sachs seems to be creating a channel through which USDC tokens and acquired Poloniex which may bring institutional funds into the crypto market and link them to the crypto exchange. One thing that I worried is ‘Bitmain’. Goldman Sachs’ Circle partners with Ji-Hwan Woo who is CEO of Bitmain and anti-Bitcoin. I am thinking if the battle between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash is not over yet. It is not so known due to decreasing season of crypto market, however, Bitcoin Cash’s hard fork went through successfully on May 15th.

Former Goldman Sachs CEO Gary Cohn said, "I do not believe in Bitcoin. Someday we will have a global cryptocurrency but not a Bitcoin. " The issuance of a new USDC token to compete with the Circle's Tether (USDT), the acquisition of the Poloniex Exchange, the large investment from BitMain … Maybe they are trying to become a leader for a new dominating cryptocurrency rather than Bitcoin..? Please say no.. I do not want to lose my investing due to whales’ fighting.

NO.3 It Will Be First Year for Institutions to Invest on Cryptocurrency.

If 2017 was the year that CNBC accept cryptocurrency in its system, then 2018 would be the year that institutions such as Goldman Sachs invest in cryptocurrency. Although institutional investors were reluctant to enter the market due to regulatory uncertainty, lack of market infrastructure, and lack of relevant data, many of the institutional investors are looking for opportunities to enter the market. NO.5 FedEx CEO, Blockchain Technology will Innovate Global Supply Chain and Transportation Industry.

Global freight forwarder FedEx is actively pursuing blockchain technology experiments that will revolutionize the transportation industry. FedEx CEO Fred Smith said at the New York Consensus 2018 conference that CCN said he is confident that the blockchain would have a major impact on the supply chain and transportation industry, and that it was a cutting-edge technology that would change the global supply chain completely.

As I study Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, my belief in blockchain is seems to be more solid. The block chain expects to change the current society. I think we will innovate the transportation industry like the one introduced, and penetrate our lives in financial, medical, and election. After five months experiences of Steemit, I felt that Steemit is building a ecosystem. So it is not uncomfortable for me that the late starters are trying to be something like Steemit which could be defined as blockchain based SNS. Yet, I am still concern about the future of Bitcoin, what about Quantum, Ada? As I think about the answer for those questions, I feel like I am not getting more solid and defined ideas but more vague and confused ideas. If someone knows, please come and teach me.
