Where Will Your STEEM Account Be On Dec 1st? On January 1st?

in #busy5 years ago

It is November 1st, the start to a new month.

The reason I bring this up is because it is a great time to take a general overview of what each is trying to accomplish.

There are many reasons to be on the Steem blockchain and I will not pretend to know them all. However, I am going to surmise that many are here to earn a bit of money for their efforts. This is in keeping with the onset of Web 3.0 and crypto-economics. Instead of mega-corporations getting all the rewards for our efforts, this new paradigm means we each can earn from our efforts.

We see a general tendency to look at the accounts of others. I guess that is part of human nature, especially when reared in a scarcity system like we all were. However, crypto-economics is truly the Age of Abundance. We are seeing tokens created all over the place. It is up to us to garner what we can.

There is a universal principle that states "what we focus upon expands".

I think most of us are aware of this. Yet we often use it to our detriment. Today, I want to encourage everyone to start focusing upon their accounts and what they can do to grow them.

@fullcoverbetting is someone I highlighted on here before. This is an approach I think everyone would benefit from modeling.

In a recent post, this individual spelled out the goals for STEEM and where the desire targets are for the account. This is not a new process since it is something that was posted in the past. To achieve this end, focus upon what one is doing is essential. Hence, we see expansion.

Here is a chart of the growth for this account. In the post, the goal for the end of October was 750 SP, which was not attained. The account is now roughly 20 SP below what the intended goal is.

That said, notice the nice upward trend. Here is someone who is active regularly meaning more SP is earned on a consistent basis. While the account is not achieving growing at a mind-boggling rate, the steady projection means this person should do very well.

This approach will keep the account expanding through the rest of 2018 and throughout 2019. Whatever the goals set, this account has a good chance meeting them since the numbers are clear.

I would suggest everyone read the full post to get an idea of what is being done.

So my question is where will your account be a month from now? Two months from now? Do you have any idea?

STEEM Power is a quantifiable way to monitor how our accounts are doing. This is a result of the efforts we put in. Naturally, there is not a one for one correlation but those who are active tend to see their SP grow at a faster rate than those who are not. Some might not have much concern about SP or their accounts but, if we are honest, most do.

We now see many opportunities to earn SP as compared to a year ago. If anyone is struggling in this area, I suggest getting active with the DApps. At this moment, @steemhunt, @dlike, and @actifit all upvote either posts made on the platform and/or comments. Not only does one receive payout in the SMT, but also SP/SBD. Essentially, one is receiving an upvote from a Whale, Dolphin, and Orca. Over time, that can really add up.

From the above chart, it looks like @fullcoverbetting went from high 200s back in May to the present 730. That is a 450 SP jump in 5 months. If that pace is maintained, this account will have about 2K SP by the end of 2019. That might not sound like a ton when compared to the Whales but, if STEEM ever reaches $100, this is not a bad return for 18 months worth of work.

We also need to keep in mind, this is just the SP. We have no idea what this account is earning in SMTs as it is active. This is another way one can accumulate more STEEM once that protocol goes live.

I personally have a year-end figure for my account in both SP and particular SMTs. Maintaining this focus helps me to consistently take the actions that earns me the tokens. I view this shift to crypto-economics as a golden opportunity to really change my life. I believe there are some other on here who feel the same way.

Take some time to look at where your account is at and what you would like to achieve. If Steem is going to be a major part of your crypto-economic life, then it might be helpful to set some milestones.

Focusing upon this will, most certainly, help your account to grow.

I definitely believe in the old saying that "slow by steady wins the race." And that holds true, except maybe for "unforeseen circumstances;" like I have seen few Steemians having to abandon their plans and power down for emergency health issues, or various other personal reasons.

Which, for me, is also part of the equation: In a sense these are "long term savings accounts," but they also can be there as the "last backstop" when something awful happens.

The place we are going is a trillion dollar industry, no more scarcity 🤡😈

"long term savings accounts"... I like that analogy.

This is the most fun I've had with a bank in a long time haha 😉

Yah I had a conversation with @fullcoverbetting in that post and he is taking this serious like a business person. We can hum and haw about the price of STEEM now and the lul in engagement but you should be looking at the numbers.

We will rise again and where will YOU be in terms of stake?

I worry about painting a big fat target on my back should the Steem blockchain succeed and become the next Reddit. Wallet info is just too public for my taste. I understand that most of the other crypto's aren't privacy tech either, but it takes considerably more effort to guess the net worth on other blockchains. @lukestokes suggested I just set up another account. I suppose this is doable, but it only takes one slip up of the VPN or ToR and your ID is known. State actors are of course the biggest criminals, but when the state breaks down, we might end up with more stories like this.

I'm sure the value of Steem will be going up dramatically before 2021. Many here probably haven't thought about the fallout that happens with success. It's a bit like winning the lottery. If you don't protect your privacy, your life will be headed for hell.

Am targeting 1600 steem power by the end of the year.

If you haven't seen them yet, @cleanplanet will also give future-SMT tokens to people who a) do litter-cleaning walks and post documentation of it or b) delegate to their account (which also upvotes the litter walkers). The tag is the same, #cleanplanet. Check them out.
Also, aren't Partiko points going to be an SMT as well?

I have my targets as well but it is sometime overwhelming to NOT buy more Steem given these prices! I am now down to buying once per month according to my plan so I now anxiously await every new month to get some more to power up! However, my focus in between is how to leverage communities that will help me get there faster.

yes i love that and we've been doing it as well- though not broadcasting the charts. i've been steadily powering up basically everything and the goal has always been to reach dolphinhood by the 1 year mark... we have 1,300 left to go and while I don't think we'll make it exactly on the dot, we will likely make it within 1 year and 1 month.

Always a smart idea to have goals set.

Just a reminder: don't shut down if you don't achieve them.
Goals should be motivating, not terminating.
