This is a battle and its worth fighting.
I realize this is going to be downvoted but it needs to be said.
Various different cryptocurrencies are now utilizing social media dapplications. From BCH to ETH to LOOM to Steem to EOS to TRX to NEO and so on. The list of social media platforms is continuously growing and some of them are in direct competition with reddit, twitter and facebook. This competition is HURTING YOUR BOTTOM LINE IF YOU HOLD CRYPTO. You are losing money if you do not regularly utilize crypto based social media and form a community on those coins. It does not matter what coins you choose, it just matters that you do it and you make yourself known on those platforms.
Places like reddit want you to talk about crypto on legacy centralized platforms for as long as possible and it IS hurting your potential earnings as it drives less people into the crypto market. The line needs to be drawn now, especially as we near the bottom of the bear market.
If you have absolutely no presence on any of these crypto currency based platforms you are part of the problem. You forgo your right to complain about your investments dumping to zero. The blood on the streets is now on your hands. Talking about cryptocurrency exclusively and primarily on platforms like facebook, reddit, twitter and youtube should be viewed as a sin and you should feel bad. Why invest in a technology only to sit your ass on reddit to talk about it all day long. If you are not on any of the numerous different crypto based platforms then you literally as bad as people who don't vote then complain about who gets elected president.
If your choice coin lacks such a platform then show there is demand or move to a coin that does. Most crypto, even BTC, is fully capable of housing a decentralized twitter style social media platform. Its not even super complex to do, simply parsing a blockchain for messages on transactions. Its one of the greatest strengths of cryptocurrency that is not being utilized at all.
So who's side are you on?
Nice. Call them out. Like you say, it won't go anywhere; but we do what we can.
