Cheering, soothing numbers!
Did you know it's not just people or living beings but even non-living things that can make us happy or sad?
I recently realized that even things as mundane as mathematical numbers can make one extremely happy or sad.
With the recent downturn in cryptocurrency market when figures of Bitcoin rolled down far below than anyone could have guessed a few months back, some people got on the verge of committing suicide! But you can argue that those numbers are tied to real wealth and makes a lot of difference in anyone's life.
So here is another example of insignificant numbers. Last week, our own Steemit platform showed some weird numbers in everyone's wallet. Estimated account value of many of us as shown on Steemit wallet went into trillions and beyond. Many people couldn't even count those large figures. Everyone knew that it was some bug but that made them ecstatically happy.
Steemians started writing blogs about their dreams and what will they do with all that money in their wallet. This newly found unexpected virtual wealth uplifted their spirit even in this sliding crypto market. Such is the power of numbers.
I use Busy platform most of the time and unfortunately, its wallet was showing only real market value of my wallet ...which was abysmally low (not even the usual 4 figures). So I had no reason to get elated. But when I asked for help to other Steemian, I was happily offered a few trillion dollars from their newly found riches!
You know, giving is more satisfying than accumulating!
Yesterday, I happened to peek on to my Vote Value figure on my Busy profile and wow, my heart started dancing! My single vote was worth over $2,500.00. I've never upvoted anyone with a single dollar. Did I say a whole dollar? To be honest, my vote is hardly worth about a cent at present.
But looking at the figure of $2,500 at half my voting power, my full vote is worth more than a bitcoin today. So I can distribute over a dozen bitcoins every day by just upvoting good content on Steem platform. Won't it make anyone happy?
As I said, even the thought of giving (a dozen bitcoin ...in my case 😉) to someone make us happy. These figures being thrown to us may be arbitrary or some technical bug but they have a huge impact on our psychological health. I love such surprises over time.
Well done Steemit & Busy. No doubt, bulls & bears can co-exist in our ecosystem!

हा हा...हम तो इंसान हैं कितना भी वजनदार वोट कर दो फिर भी पेट नहीं भरता। वैसे मैंने भी 2 दिनों के लिए रहीशी की सारी हदें पार कर दी थी। 😀
