Сегодня четверг, и это означает, что я снова публикую фотографии бабочек для конкурса #butterflyday от @whatisnew. На этот раз бабочка будет Махаон.

Photos of the butterfly were taken in may last year on mount Tipsey.

Фотографии были сделаны в мае прошлого года на горе Типсей.

Butterfly Machaon belongs to the family of Papilionidae, named naturalist Carl Linnaeus in honor of the ancient Greek physician Machaon, who participated in the Trojan war.

Бабочка махаон принадлежит к семейству парусников, названа натуралистом Карлом Линнеем в честь древнегреческого врача Махаона, участвовавшего в Троянской войне.

I don't know what you mean. That's not a good answer.

So you basically saying if I live in Columbia for a little while it would actually make you a little stronger because you're lifting more weight every day.

Nice find! It looks very much like the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail that I posted a couple of weeks ago. They must be related. Interesting information on who this butterfly was named after. Thanks for using #butterflyday! : )

@whatisnew, our butterflies certainly belong to the same species. :)

The first one looks like it has a long tail :)

You're right, it seems that way :)

Nice capture . Your butterfly looks a lot like the Swallowtail.

Maybe it's two different names for the same butterfly :)

Could be. I posted one with a Swallowtail that was around in the summer.

That is a beauty! I hope this is a good year for butterflies here! I'm worried about them.

We have a very capricious weather, it snowed on Monday, now it has mostly melted, but I don’t know how the butterflies dealt with it ...

It is the same here. Snow that melted the next morning when the sun came out, and soon after it was shirt sleeve weather. I hope the butterflies had a warm place during the snowfall!

I think our butterflies can hide from the snow :)
