For my first entry into this week's bwphotocontest, I'm sharing a photo that I took about a week ago while I was walking around my neighbourhood. I was out with the intention of finding some new buildings to capture and share with you all, and it was a great time of day for photography since the sun was just beginning to set and because of this, the lighting in the sky was very evening-esque. This church is called the Brunswick Street Baptist Church, and was founded all the way back in 1814!

From doing a bit of extra reading on their website, it sounds like they offer a few different types of services on Sunday mornings. On their website, they emphasize that they are aiming to be inclusive of as wide an age group as possible - as such they have three different services of varying styles to appeal to the different age groups. It sounds as though they have one service that is more traditional, appealing to the older generataion; one service which is more contemporary, appealing to the younger generation; and one service that is intended for school-age children which would appeal to a much younger audience. I think that this is a great approach to attract a much wider audience of church-goers. Less and less people my age seem interested in going to church these days, but perhaps with the approach that this church is taking, they will have more luck attracting individuals from the younger generations.
