Carnival with Torotot (Daily Freewrite + Cabalen Christmas Countdown)

23 more days to go and it would be Christmas. But that also meant little Lorazi's life would come to an end soon. Beginning of the year, doctor diagnosed him with stage 4 lymphoma cancer. And he was given a speculation of a year to live.

Throughout the year, it had been nothing short of agony in the heart of Lorazi's parents but joy in their countenance trying to create memories for Lorazi before he could not anymore.

December would be the last month to remember. They brought him to carnival full of circus, musical performances and Ferris wheel. At such tender young age of 5, Lorazi had proven to many his inborn skill of singing and dancing - always pitch perfect and he had started playing torotot (trumpet) and drums. Always on beat, moving in sync with the rhythm.

He loved especially the musical performances. And when the last part finale came, he would clap and dance non-stop, as though he was part of the band.

Now, with a small trumpet in his hands, Lorazi and his parents are at the same carnival. It is December again. Another year. Ironically, it is the same band, same songs. Filled with excitement, Lorazi blows his trumpet, releasing his spirit of victory and vibrance, dancing along as the band reaches the finale.

Lorazi is a living miracle, beating the odds and surviving another year despite what doctor has speculated last year. Mr. and Mrs. Goram gazed at their 6-year-old, hoping and praying he will blow another sound of the victory with his torotot next year.

There is always a miracle, if you believe.
