My review of the Puffco Peak

So I recently got one of these new Puffco Peaks, they are advertised as a "smart rig" and is actually a really cool little device. It features a ceramic heating element that heats up a little ceramic cup or "crucible" and that goes into the base and filters thru a glass rig. The rig that comes with it is sleek and nice looking, but in my opinion it doesn't function very well. I got mine without the top and decided to make my own. The glass attachment that I made doesn't look as nice as theirs but the function is definitely better, and that's what matters. The Peak features 4 different temperature settings: 450°F, 500°, 550°, and 600°. It also claims to have a smart temperature reader that allows it to give hits consistently the same temperature every time. There's only 1 button on the device so it is pretty simple to use once you figure out all the features. A single press of the button allows you to change the temperature settings, a double tap of the button starts heating the rig, and 3 taps gives you a readout of remaining battery. To get it going you just load your concentrates in the ceramic cup, put the carb cap overy the atomizer, and press the button 2 times quickly. This will make the device light up and vibrate, which signals to you that it has started preheating. After about 20 seconds, it vibrates again and ets you know that it is ready to hit, and you just pull on the piece like any other glass rig. I gotta say it is super convenient and hits very close to a rig with a banger and torch. It does require some maintenance to keep parts from getting too sticky and full of reclaim, but that's an issue that happens with all types of concentrate vapes. I wish the battery life was a little bit longer, but I am using it very often and at max temp, so it is understandable that the battery is dying quicker than it would for others.

Overall I would highly recommend one of these vapes if it is within your budget and if you really smoke oil a lot and are tired of torches and butane and all of that. It does have an MSRP of $379.99 so it's not the cheapest thing you can get to smoke out of, but it is a well designed smoking device.
