Senator Harris, Is She Or Isn't She. You Decide.

in #cannabis5 years ago

This article is a response to the criticism we received when we posted the news about Senator Harris and her comments about her cannabis experience while in college and her history on “Legalization”. Here is one of the reviews posted to our Facebook Page. “doesn't recommend Cannabis News and Politicsthought these guys were legit for a minute, but now they are spreading propaganda about politicians that are for legalization of cannabis. I guess this is another S.A.M. site.. working for the man! SMDH".

As in the “real world” actions speak louder than works.
Here are the facts: If you claim someone is "pro-Cannabis" the first thing they must be is "pro" and that is defined in the following manner by Webster as pro as a;
noun Definition of pro 1: an argument or evidence in affirmation an appraisal of the pros and cons
2: the affirmative side or one holding it
adverb
Definition of pro: on the affirmative side: in affirmation, much has been written pro and con
preposition
Definition of pro: in favor of: for
Now the question becomes, based on her historical actions and record is she truly “Pro”? You read you decide!

Since her election in 2016 there have been the following Federal Legislation filed on the subject of "Cannabis".

  1. 95 Bills have been filed with the subject matter “Marijuana” of those (15) fifteen have been filed since January 2019
  2. 30 Bills on “Hemp” with (5) since January.
  3. 33 Bills on “Cannabis” with (7) seven this year.

TOTAL NUMBER of “Cannabis” legislation 153 (One Hundred Fifty-Three)

A search of her "actions" reveal that she is NOT a Sponsor of ANY of the filed bills and co-sponsored ONE last legislative session which was S.1152 - SAFE Banking Act (Link)
To create protections for depository institutions that provide financial services to cannabis-related businesses, and for other purposes.

Therefore I ask you based on FACT and Historical data that suggests that out of the One Hundred Fifty plus bills actually filed her ACTION includes only one (1) co-sponsorship does she meet the definition of being "Pro_Cannabis" regardless of what she said for 2020?
