Another Big Election Year For Cannabis As Candidates Recognize Voters Want Legal Weed
Cannabis is one of the hottest topics being discussed in the week before Americans head to the poll. Voters all across the country will see a variety of cannabis-related measures. Some of the measures actually include ways to spend the vast amounts of money being brought in by taxing cannabis. In Colorado, the trendsetter in legal states, legal cannabis revenues in 2018 hit $1billion by August. It's looking like the grand total will top $1.5billion by the time the year is over. Who knows, though... if I had to guess, I'd think the holiday season increases cannabis sales. Both for gifts and as a way to reduce stress.
Another use of cannabis during the holiday season is to get high enough that you lose your short-term memory, as a last-ditch effort for getting that Christmas song dislodged from your brain. Sometimes there's no other hope, aside from making a heroic dose of melatonin and self-imposed hibernation. I think I'd stick with getting high.
North Dakota and Michigan will be deciding on ballot initiatives for legalizing cannabis use by people aged 21 years and older.
