They Call Me The CannabosssteemCreated with Sketch.

I had the honour of being flown stateside to do an on site consultation at this fully legal medical cannabis grow in the state of Michigan. I'd never grown outdoors outside of the mecca of dope growing known as the banana belt in Northern California, but after a decade as a master grower both indoors and outdoors I felt confident I could get these guys well on their way to Maryjane Michigan monsters !

The Michigan season is short and quite harsh, we had high winds, heavy rains, and nearly freezing temps during this getting outside from the indoor nursery process. Fortunately, my warnings on these matters were taken seriously and tragedy was averted.

But, alas the fun had only just begun as there were 88 150 gallon smart pots to fill with soil. And a fence to finish building, along with the procurement of all the upcoming seasons necessities..

This is the phase one post of this epic journey to bring commercial California grow methods to Michigan which was a groundbreaking and trail-BLAZING venture puns intended 🤓

Stay tuned and when you think skramatters think green. Feel free to ask me anything, while I'm forever learning myself, I've just about seen and done it all when it comes to cannabis, from seed to shelf. And not excluding rxtraordinary extractions as well as edibles..

sweet looking plants...might come over and stay

Haha, thx @kiwiscanfly! It's the dead of winter on this farm now, and I'm back home where this activity can get me head chopped off 😇

Are there any aspects about growing over there that has an advantage of the Mountains in North California?

In Michigan I can't say that there are, I prefer the more wild west approach of Cali, though it's changing fast there too. Climate definitely not advantageous, culture nope, politics nope, and it's based on a rather silly caregiver set up, basically there is no grey areas like in NorCal where u can still attempt a clandestine grow and do what you please with the harvest...

Awesome. I got a cutting from a friend. It is still very much in the flowering season, but she wants to start flowering. Know why this might be happening?

@hansdewet thanks for stopping by here..

I'm a bit confused by the question? So you have a cutting, is this cutting rooted already? Was it taken from a flowering plant ? If taken from a flowering plant, which is less than ideal BTW, the only course of action would be to immediately give it 24 hours of light or at least 20 hours so that it will revert back to a vegetative state. This will take weeks and the plant will do peculiar things during the shock.

If your natural light cycle is in flowering 12/12 or 14/10 hours of light to dark then the cutting will continue to flower. It's not based on size, it's totally enzymatic/hormonal and once a plant flips it's best to let it do it's thing. Where are u in the world? The southern hemisphere would be just heading into summer meaning it still should be veg cycles, long photo period for another couple of months. And the northern hemisphere is very much in winter for the most part..

In fact this is a method for sexing seed starts, u can take cuttings and then flip them into a 12/12 cycle to induce the preflowering so it's easier to determine sex without simply waiting for the slow natural process of vegetative growing..these new plants would then be discarded as they'd yield next to nothing.. It's only to identify the potential moms and dads gender..

Again, I'm not exactly sure what you meant, but I hope this helps you, if not try to explain in more detail your situation..thx

It is planted outside so I can't really give it 20 h sun. You can look at my most recent post where you can see the plant is atleast 1 foot tall already. We are in the southern hemisphere.

I don't know what phase the mother plant was in. It is still very warm here and lots of sun. I just planted it into a box so I can move it more often
