The Japanese officially confirmed the future of a Frankfurt concept
The modest electric concept of Honda - Urban EV, actually turned out to be one of the great stars in the Frankfurt showroom in the autumn, winning the media, audience and specialists with its sympathetic design. Now the good news continues - the serial version of Urban comes into production next year and its official premiere will be later this year.

The confirmation came from Honda's senior vice president, Philip Ross.

"The serial version of this concept, which has received so many high ratings, will be presented in Europe by the end of 2019, and orders for Urban will begin in the early 2019," Ross explained.

So far there is no other information about the electric future of Urban, which was also shown in Geneva, but potential buyers hope the concept will deliver the exterior design of the car - retro lines and compact dimensions. In order to make accurate size judgments, we need to specify that Urban will be positioned just under the current Jazz model.

Naturally, the biggest changes on the road to serial production will suffer the interior of a concept, but it is assumed that at least the basic ideas set in its arrangement will be preserved.

The serial Urban will be the first of a series of electric and hybrid models that Honda plans to launch in the markets it attends. Japan's plans are two-thirds of the brand's sales to electrified models by 2025.
