History of the Fiat-Patriarca 750
The 750 Berlinetta Sport is the second car Rodolfo Patriarca, founder in 1933 of the Italian race car manufacturer Patriarca. The car was built for Sesto Leonardi, Italian driver from 1938 to 1965. With this car, Sesto Leonardi was Italian Champion for the 750cc class in 1950 thanks to a great performance at the Mille Miglia. This car has competed in a lot of races between 1949 and 1955 as for example the 1950 Targa Florio (3rd place) and also the challenging Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti.
The 750 Berlinetta Sport is based on a Fiat 500 C chassis with a aluminum coachwork by Mario Faina. It was time for Italian race cars with Alfa Romeo and Maserati with a lot of racing competitions.
Technical specification
The 750 Berlinetta Sport is powered with a Giannini 750 cc engine producing 81 hp. For its performance, we can refer to its participation at the 1950 Mille Miglia with a top speed of 157 kmh and an average speed of 105 kmh in order to finish 24th overall but first in its class.
