History of the Mustang Boss 302

The Boss 302 is a variant of the Mustang built between 1969 and 1970 for the first generation, a second series was produced in 2012 and 2013. The Boss 302 was a direct competitor to Chevrolet’s Camaro Z/28. With better performance on a lighter chassis, the Boss 302 won the SCCA’s 1970 Trans-Am racing series. A success on the track and also in the showroom.

“It's quiet and exudes quality, very much like an expensive European GT car. The stiff suspension and high shock absorber control give it a very purposeful feel, and because the body doesn’t quiver or rattle when you hit a bump, the overall impression is most satisfying.” - Car and Driver, February 1970
