Today I have for you a Mercury Eight Town Sedan from 1946.

This is the black car in the photo. These have a 3.9l side valve or flat head V8 petrol motor. Mercury was a division of the Ford motor company USA.

2 sweet machines there champ. We never refer to the flat head as a side valve 'round here.

Cheers buddy and most of the flat head motors are referred to as side valve in Australia though the early Ford V8s are often called flat head V8s here.
