Vanden Plas Princess 4 litre R. Today's featured vehicle.
Well how is that for a long name of a vehicle Vanden Plas Princess 4 Litre R.
These are the only car's other then Rolls Royce cars to have a Rolls Royce motor fitted. Yes there are Rolls Royce motors fitted to military vehicles and such commercial type vehicles but no others cars had them. The Princess is a reworked car based on the Austin A99 Westminster.
They have an all aluminium Rolls Royce FB60 engine. A straight six cylinder petrol engine with twin carburetors making 175Bhp with 218 lb.ft of torque. Gearbox is a 3 speed automatic driving the rear wheels. And being capable of 112 mph. for a car introduced in 1964 as a luxury vehicle it had great performance.
Sadly this car is not in very good condition. I did try to by it and the other one the owner had as a pair to make one good car though he decided to keep them.

My dad bought a Woolsey when I was a kid back in the 80s for £100. It was like a small version of this car, the seats reminded me of it. Must of been the most luxury you could get for such a low price.

Yes the Wolseley brand was tied in with Austin and Morris etc so some vehicles are based on the same thing.
