Our house cat Chelsea and Scarey one of the garden cats looking in with envy. Its not that cold only 15 c... But it did look sad.
It is a gas fire. Runs on bottles of Butane gas. Quite expensive and unfortunately produces a lot of humidity in the house causing damp mould to grow on the cold walls. So after winter everything has to be cleaned and repainted. This year I am going to use an antifungal paint. And I hope that will help. Sorry a bit long winded but hey. Thought you might like to know lol.
Not long winded at all. Yes I do want to know hence I asked. What if you run a fan would that help with the humidity or use a dehumidifier. That would solve all of it. Thank you..interesting.
Both a fan and in particular a dehumidifier might use more electric than we can spare especially at night when we are on batteries. The sun gives us enough heat during the day. It the one thing that is the holy grail for renewable energy users. Heating if we had wood we could use a fire but it is in short suppy here. But thanks for the suggestion 😁
well hire a Geisha girl and have her fan your room when you use the heater. Ilol. I am learning about your existence. we have a heat recovery ventalator idea we are looking into. since we live on the coast
Yes there are solar heaters that go on the roof and heat the house during the day and that helps the overnight temperature. Bit sadly we have no more room on the roof and they are quite expensive. Would like to see what you are looking into and if it could be ised here. Always keep looking for a way to heat the house for free.
ok. well I will let you know what we are going to do. presently we use wood pellets upstairs that heats the main living room and the kitchen and does a partial job on the dining area. that does not touch the bedrooms so we rely on electric which we hate and dont want to pay it. we use wood stove in the lower level and that is so nice. you have to be home however. so we are looking at other options. we also cook with electric and so we will change that to propane and so will use propane and the wood stoves and the heat recovery ventatalor. i will certainly keep you posted on that. not sure if that is my next project or new kitchen. weighing it out
