Curator Cat Talks About "The Other Cat" in the House...

in #cats6 years ago

A few sharp-eyed folks have noticed that there is "another cat" in some of the Curator Cat blog's photos.

Although she doesn't really do or say much, I should probably give BeBe a proper introduction.

BeBe — which is actually short for "Bowling Ball" because she has three strategically placed black dots on her back — is an Old Lady Kitty who's closing in on 14 years of age.

Cat
BeBe... being BeBe

She's very round and fluffy, not because she's fat, but because she has this very dense and thick "triple coat." It's only a half joke when we say we believe that every person on the planet will eventually have at least one BeBe hair!

BeBe is very sweet natured and her life mostly revolves around food and snacktime.

Cat
The cat shown in its occasionally observed "Circular State."

We facetiously call her our "Special Needs Kitty" because Dr. Abby (our vet) once told us that if BeBe were human, she'd be "developmentally challenged." As I said, she's very sweet natured, but she's "not entirely there" and evidently never quite has been.

Mostly, she just wants to be left alone... but she also has the world's finest built-in chicken detector!

Cat
Don't lie to me. I KNOW there was chicken...

If you open a can and it's beef, or fish, nothing happens. If the can happens to contain chicken, she's there in a nanosecond, from the other end of the house. Same with Human food: The Humans don't even need to start cooking, they can just be "thinking" about making chicken for dinner... and she's immediately in the kitchen. Maybe he nose has an unheard of level of acuity when it comes to chicken...

Anyway, these are some photos of BeBe, so now you know who she is!

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming!

Cat
To finish: A selfie as "Proof of Curator Cat!"

P.S.: I am feeling much better now, thank you! After just a few days of urinary tract health diet and some daily bone broth, my inflamed bladder has calmed right down.

The veterinary medical name for it is Idiopathic Cystitis; it can often be triggered by stress... and we've had a lot of coming and going visitors and houseguests recently and the normal routine has been off, for sure. And that's not good for a sensitive cat like me. So we've had a diet change (less dry kibble) and are working on a more stable routine in the house.

Thanks to everyone who sent good wishes! I love this community!

Now I'm going to go see what everyone else has been up to-- have a beautiful day!

BeBe is a sweetie

She's a good cat, all in all. Didn't think much of me when I was a kitten and would climb all over her...

=^..^=

Glad to hear that you are feeling better!

Thank you! I am glad my Humans pay attention, since we cats tend to be very adept at pretending nothing is wrong.

Aww! BeBe is a cutie. 💜 Maggie gets idiopathic cystitis as well, and I didn't know to try bone broth for that, so thanks! She's only had a few bouts really with symptoms, but I've found that feliway collars help (the calming pheromone. Tried the plug ins, but I didn't notice a difference with them).

Bone broth is evidently good for many things... but mostly helpful if there are issues with crystal forming. We've just had a lot of "activity" in the house as of late... and I'm a very sensitive cat, so that was probably the trigger.

=^..^=

BeBe is so cute! Love her spots. Super happy you are feeling better sweetheart! 😍

Thank you! We're Yin-Yang in a way; I have a couple of tint white patches; she has black spots.

I don't know WHY you bother... oh, wait... you're a BOT. And there are at least seven complete idiots in a community of 1,000,000+... and you're going to find them.

BeBe reminds me of my deceased cat Shadow. He was a special cat. Soon I'll be posting about him.
