A Kneading Cat III

in #cats5 years ago

It may simply be an actions that symbolises its happiness that was similar to when it was being nursed by its mother. Further evidence towards this theory is denoted by observed accounts of cats trying to suckle at the surface they are kneading on though this could be for an entirely different reason altogether.

There are many other theories surrounding the behaviour of kneading but not much indicates that is related to signs of stress or pain. Other thoughts around this type of activity implicate objectives of nesting or preparing a surface for rest. Cats carry many behavioural patterns from their ancestral inheritance and there are many actions that may be attributed to this. While many of them will seem harmless, it’s worth researching and understanding if any may indicate any underlying problems that need to be addressed. Consulting a behaviour specialist is also beneficial.
