Breeding Pregnancy I

After months of preparation, raising the queen and going through the mating process it will finally be time for a queen to enter her pregnancy phase. Not all mating attempts are successful however after a few days of exposure and mating round the probability of pregnancy is considerably high. After the mating meet, the queen will return home and it is the breeder’s responsibility to recognise the pregnancy phase. There are a number of tell-tale signs that a cat has entered a state of pregnancy with the most noticeable change being lack of heat phases. Observing a cat who has missed two or three cycles of heat is clear indication of pregnancy. There will be no distinct calls for a sire and the queen will begin to undergo a number of changes that will reflect her state of pregnancy.

Aside from behavioural changes relating to state of heat, there are a number of chemical reactions and physical changes that will characterise the state pregnancy. The physical changes associated with this process will see a distinct change in nipple size and shape.
