These conditions may seem a little daunting to a new owner but these are but two extra things to look out for. Care in a traditional sense is very much the same as any cat and should be kept consistent throughout the lifespan. Regular visits to the vet and supplementary consultations when in doubt are recommended.

Grooming of the Sphynx is a little different in comparison to normal fur covered cats. Their exposed skin often leads to excessive oil secretion and care should be taken to make sure that their bodies are kept clean.

Regular grooming and bathing are required to remove excess oils and should be carried out on a regular basis. A weekly bath should suffice to keep this build up at bay. It is worth noting that aside from the body, attention to the ears is important to avoid any potential ear infections.

The Sphynx cat is a social and curious cat that will come to be known as the household trickster. They are known as mischievous by nature and enjoy interacting with their house occupants. With a vocal personality, they will often approach and greet their carers with much enthusiasm. This intelligent and interactive feature of the Sphynx makes it a great choice for owners looking for an active and loving cat to bond with.
