The cat will eat its fill and ask for more if it feels the need. In some cases, certain circumstances may require other supplementations and considerations. Obtaining pregnancy nutrition advice from a qualified vet is recommended.

Aside from supplementing nutrition, physical activity and development is crucial to keep the queen healthy. Engaging in various activities that involve jumping, running and other manoeuvres should be kept up. Pregnant cats are able to mobilise in the same way as their non pregnant state but a number of considerations need to be taken during this critical period. Allowing a pregnant pedigree to go outside and have free reign is not recommended as it exposes them to numerous health hazards and diseases. The overall activity level should be maintained with the intention to keep muscles active and toned leading up to birth. With a healthy body and development, the chances of successful birth are vastly improved and only contribute to greater probability of realising a great litter. Breeders will enjoy this time as an intensive and bond forming moment as the queen becomes increasingly reliant on her supporting carer.
