Judging in shows will always be accompanied by a set of rules. All cats will be designated a pen space to reside in for the duration of the event. It is down to the breeder to look after their participant and make sure all is well throughout.

Knowing the rules is especially important as misdemeanours could lead to a total disqualification. For instance, the feeding of cats will be at specific times and will certainly not happen immediately before a judging contest. In many cases, judges will require a private moment to review the cat in question without owner presence. This is something that breeders should consider when entering a competition as it is an element that tests how social their cat is.
